Lewes Refugee Support Group
LRSG aims to promote the welfare of refugees and people seeking asylum in the Lewes District by raising awareness, responding to local issues and providing support to individuals and families who are settling in the District as a result of government resettlement programmes or the Homes for Ukraine scheme. We hold a range of events, information stalls and open meetings to counter some of the misinformation about refugees. Educational outreach work in local schools is an important part of what we do. We are part of a broad-based alliance of organisations opposed to the criminalisation of asylum seekers and campaign under that umbrella.
LRSG also runs a prison visiting project to support foreign national prisoners detained at HMP Lewes.

Everybody's Seaford
Everybody's Seaford is an informal community movement held together by the shared belief that everybody is welcome in Seaford, no matter their ethnicity, religion, age, gender, sexuality, disability or any other difference. Communicating primarily through a WhatsApp community, it exists to support community members to work together to find ways for everyone to feel safe and welcome in Seaford. Everybody's Seaford aims to create spaces to encourage understanding and find peaceful and constructive solutions. Symbolised by an umbrella, under which all are welcome, it seeks to showcase non-confrontational alternatives to scapegoating and hate, through positive local actions that are persuasive to others. Everybody's Seaford is informally supported by Seaford Environmental Alliance. To learn more or get involved, look out for event posters online or around town, or you can email hello@seafuture.org, with the words “Everybody's Seaford” included in the subject line.

Diversity Lewes
Diversity Lewes, founded in 2010, works to challenge discrimination and build a more inclusive, connected community through understanding, respect, and celebration of difference. We raise awareness of barriers linked to class, faith, race, age, sexuality, disability, and social isolation, promoting empathy and opportunity in their place. We believe diversity is a strength that enriches everyone’s lives. Through intergenerational events featuring global food, music, performances, and cultural activities, we create spaces for connection, learning, and shared celebration. Education is central to our work: we partner with schools and colleges to deliver assemblies, workshops, and talks exploring inclusion, identity, fairness, and the harms of discrimination. We also highlight the diverse cultural influences shaping modern Britain, including the contributions of refugees and diaspora communities. Through community events and education, Diversity Lewes nurtures compassion, challenges prejudice, and inspires positive change, working towards a future where everyone feels valued, included, and empowered.
